Context parameter '$HIDDEN1.__EVENTTARGET' not found in test context_

Hi all,

actually iam raising this question for the 2nd time. I have created a web test using vsts 2008, the web test works fine. But the problem is with my load testing. When i used that web test for my load testing iam getting so many errors like"" Exception WebTestException 47 Context parameter '$HIDDEN1.__EVENTTARGET' not found in test context".

I tried to debug that issue using Sean Lumley's Blog, but that didnt help me. Eventhough my web test got passed iam getting "302 found " in some requests instead of the "200 OK".Will that be the reason for the errors in load testing? Iam actually get stuck with this issue. After solving this issue only i can go forward. So please help me, iam really suffered with this. please help me , this is very urgent.Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Sherin

Hello Sherin,

I assume you have already looked through this article: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/slumley/archive/2007/11/19/debugging-errors-in-load-test.aspx, you could also take a look at this one: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/edglas/archive/2007/12/02/web-test-authoring-and-debugging-techniques-for-vs-2008.aspx

If you can not get direct help from that, I suggest you take a look at VS2010. There is a new feature that you can view how the web test  run inside load test running which will be easier to debug this kind of questions. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/billbar/archive/2009/06/09/vsts-2010-load-test-feature-saving-test-logs.aspx

Here you can download the trial version of VS2010: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e2a1a098-995e-4468-816d-7fdbe0a64f38&displaylang=en

Hello Sherin,

VS2010 will not automatically eliminate the errors. But it offer several new featuers for better debugging and troubleshooting.

You can take a look at the 'Saving test  logs' feature mentioned above, with it, you can find what the failed web test did during load test running to figure out whether there are some parameter  lost, etc.

In addition, if you manually access the requests in web  test during load test running, are there any errors?

Hi Edwer,

I have rambled across many posts but unable to find an answer to the same problem. After a long analysis I realized that this issue pops up while executing load tests.

For a multiple iteration webtest it works fine but when I try to run a load test  for say 5 users, this issue comes after 5 successful tests. I am still unable to find any solution to this problem. I am using VSTS 2008 SP1.

Please help.

Thanks in advance,

Vaibhav
