Visual Studio 2010 installation error - Installation failed for component TFS Object Model

I am trying to install Visual Studio 2010 for last several days but getting stuck with this error: "Installation failed for component TFS Object Model"

I have Visual Studio 2005 and VS2008 already installed on my Windows 7 PC. Also, I had an expired trial version of VS 2010 which I completely removed, including .NET Framework 4.0 and other related components.

Hi Tojo,

Based on your description, the installation  of visual  Studio 2010 was blocked when it tried to install TFS Object Model component.

For error  code "1603", it's a common message that means "fatal error during installation". To track the root cause, we might need to look into the log files for further troubleshooting.

Could you please help me to try the following steps to install Visual studio  2010?

- Run Visual Studio 2010 Uninstall Utility to remove the failure installation of VS2010
- Install VS2010 again

If the problem still exists, could you please try the following steps to collect the log files?

- Try to clean your "%temp%" folder (Start Menu >> Run >> Type "%temp%")
- Install VS2010
(The installer must be run with administrator privileges - Right-click the installer >> "Run as Administrator")
- Collect the logs from "%temp%" folder
   Collect tool: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e0da314f-6216-4a18-bc6b-7d29cf83af20&displaylang=en
- Send vslogs.cab file to me (v-yicche@microsoft.com)
